Prof Harra has received various award over the years for her research. These include:

• Robinson medal and lecture. 2017
• Daiwa-Adrian prize for UK-Japan research collaboration 2016. 2016
• RAS group achievement award for the Hinode EIS team 2015
• Sir Arthur C Clarke award in Space Achievement (Academic Study/Research) for leadership in the UK and internationally of the exploitation of data from the Japanese Hinode spacecraft and of the upcoming EUI telescope on Solar Orbiter. 2014
• Awarded the Royal Astronomical Society’s Chapman Medal – the first woman to receive this award. 2014
